Our valued partner, IT hardware specialist Lenovo, is making a donation of 30 laptops to support our activities. With additional funds from UW-NL, the devices will be used by Edu4u to provide online educational services for refugees. Edu4u, an NGO founded by Syrian refugees who are today prominent Dutch citizens, teaches Dutch language along with other courses.
The interruption in face-to-face courses offered by Edu4u necessitated by the coronavirus makes the donation very timely, since it will enable refugees to continue learning by meeting their teachers and mentors online. In addition, some Lenovo staff will join our pool of volunteers to familiarize Edu4u students with Microsoft Office.
