United Way the Netherlands (UW-NL) is very pleased to announce a donation of 30 laptop’s form our partner “Lenovo”. The laptops and UW-NL’s additional financial contribution will be used by Edu4U for online educational activities in support of refugees. Edu4u, a Non-Governmental Organization, is dedicated to educating refugees in language and other courses in the Netherlands.
The laptops have been received at a vital moment in time, due to interruptions in educational programs offered by Edu4u, caused by the covid-19 measures. The laptops will ensure the continuation of the educational services by Edu4u and will give young refugees an opportunity to continue learning, despite not being able to convene in person with teachers and mentors.
In addition, Lenovo staff have offered to work as volunteers, providing Edu4u students special courses in Microsoft Office suite.
In other good news, “Total”, a partner of United Way the Netherlands, has generously pledged a three-year financial donation, – towards the “Get-a-Grip” project, implemented by Humanitas. Besides the donation, Total has also committed ten volunteers to the project, who are expected to play a vital role in educating youths in financial responsibility.
Finally, “Accenture”, an international consultancy firm has offered in-kind services to improve the UW-NL website and pursue digital marketing strategies.
