We proudly announce we have secured the support of the UEFA Foundation for Children and the endorsement of our activities by the Embassy of Ukraine.
Soon after the start of the war in Ukraine, our project Home from Home in support of Ukrainian refugees took off. We have been expanding it ever since. Thanks to the UEFA Foundation for Children, which supports humanitarian projects around the world, we are adding a new chapter to this project. The foundation has approved funding of EUR 70,000 in support of sports activities for children.
We are delighted to report that our initiatives have been endorsed by Ukraine in the person of H.E. Maksym Kononenko, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Netherlands. He is pictured here (centre), with the project manager from United Way and our Executive Director Machiel Salomons to his left and a representative of the Consular Section of the Embassy and United Way’s staff member to the right. On 11 November full endorsement and support was extended for future cooperation of the Embassy of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Women Refugees Association (UWRA), which we founded earlier this year. We are currently particularly focussed on our mental health project, which plans to support thousands of Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands.
